Tianjin, China

The Indigo Tianjin is housed in a historic complex built in the late 1800s, in what was the “German Concession” before the First World War. We drew upon the German local history – buildings and trade for our concept narrative. The site comprises of eleven (11) separate dwellings. The main reception building was originally the German Consolate, later becoming the German Club, taking postal services for communication to and from Europe.

Multicultural Convergence

Theaters, cinema, education, restaurants and clubs and stamps contribute to our “local” story.
